Our Care Staff
All care workers employed by our company undergo a structured induction programme. New staff complete a 2-week induction training, including company policies & procedures, core values, care standards training, and shadowing experienced staff. We provide comprehensive training in emergency first aid, infection control, food hygiene, and health & safety, so you can rest assured that your loved one is in good hands.
To ensure every care worker is competent and confident in delivering high-quality care, they are trained in a range of mandatory subjects aligning them with our aims and objectives. We take pride in our rigorous recruitment process, which ensures that only the most skilled and compassionate individuals join our team. Our staff have a passion for providing care and are committed to making a positive impact on the lives of those being cared for.
Additionally, staff receive specialist training relevant to the specific needs of the service users they support, further enhancing their skills and knowledge.
Direct Employees
At Vernies Home Care, the majority of our carers are direct employees we also have a small team of in-house agency staff to ensure flexibility and cover when needed.
Why does this matter? It means we can maintain high standards of care for everyone we support, while ensuring all our carers are fully trained, supported, and familiar with our values and procedures.
As direct employees, we manage their pay, benefits, holiday entitlement, pension contributions, overtime, and travel expenses. Each carer is assigned a line manager and mentor, giving them guidance, support, and someone to turn to whenever needed.
This approach guarantees consistency, reliability, and high-quality care, whether you are supported by our direct carers or our trusted in-house agency team.
